IPS Professional Development Day (Private Event)

IPS Art Teachers Professional Development Day | Indianapolis Public Schools

This private sound bath opens the district's professional development day for Indianapolis Public Schools art teachers, held the week before students return for the new school year. The morning is built around grounding intentions, with educators reflecting on who they are as artists and teachers and how they want to show up for their students this year.

Sound is a natural fit for that kind of work. Before a room can engage in honest reflection and real conversation with each other, the nervous system has to settle. An hour of immersive sound gives teachers a shared reset, moving a group out of summer scatter and end-of-break stress and into a calmer, more receptive state for the day ahead.

Educators spend the school year regulating everyone else in the building. Starting a professional development day with restorative sound offers them the same care they extend to their students, and sets a tone of presence and intention that carries through the rest of the day's planning and collaboration.

Sessions like this support schools, districts, and education teams in opening professional development days, staff in-services, and teacher appreciation events with something that actually restores rather than adds to the calendar.
