INSSWA | Fall Conference Sound Bath for School Social Workers

This one-hour sound bath closes the INSSWA Fall Conference, themed around resiliency and recovery in supporting students and social workers through adversity. After a full day of keynotes, breakouts, and learning, attendees come together for a final hour of rest before heading home.

An immersive sound experience uses resonant instruments to shift the body out of a stress state and into rest and recovery mode, often in as little as 20 minutes. Research connects the practice with lower cortisol, replenished dopamine, and improved sleep quality, all of which matter for professionals who spend their days holding space for others. Nothing is required to receive the benefit beyond showing up. No experience is necessary, no physical activity is involved, and falling asleep is entirely welcome.

School social workers carry the weight of their students’ hardest moments, often with little room to process their own. Closing a conference on resiliency with a practice that regulates the nervous system gives attendees an experience of recovery they can feel in their bodies, along with a tool they can return to and share with the students and colleagues they support.

Sessions like this support school districts, professional associations, healthcare organizations, and corporate teams at conferences, staff retreats, and any gathering where participants need space to reset and integrate.
