Arsenal Tech Football | Mental Resiliency Program
At the invitation of Dr. Elaine Gilbert, pediatric psychologist with Riley Children's Health, I'm returning this year as part of Arsenal Tech's Mental Resiliency Training — a pilot program designed to bring sports psychology directly into the lives of student-athletes at one of Indianapolis's most storied high schools.
The program recognizes something that competitive culture doesn't always make room for: that the ability to regulate, recover, and reset is not separate from athletic performance — it's what makes sustained performance possible. These young men are being given tools that extend well beyond the field.
This session contributes to that foundation. Through guided relaxation and restorative sound, players are invited to settle the nervous system, release the physical and mental tension that accumulates through demanding seasons, and reconnect with a quieter kind of steadiness — one that supports focus, resilience, and presence both on and off the field.
